Plant Walk + Workshop Agreements

In registering for a plant walk, class, or workshop or attending a Foliage Botanics event, you agree to the terms and conditions stated herein.

  1. Liability & Medical Release:  I hereby release Foliage Botanics LLC or any person or persons acting on its behalf from liability for any bodily injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of any personal articles while on the premises or while participating in any activity sponsored by Foliage Botanics LLC. I agree that in the event medical attention is required due to accident or illness, Foliage Botanics LLC shall, without accepting fiscal responsibility, seek such medical-services as it deems necessary and appropriate through EMS/911 and/or local hospitals.

  2. Media Release: I hereby allow Foliage Botanics LLC to take photographs of me, and/or my guest(s), to be used for promotional/marketing and archival purposes only. If you wish to opt out, that is totally ok! Just please make the instructor aware of this prior to the start of class as we cannot contact each individual after the fact.

  3. Email Release: I understand that by signing up for a workshop, I will automatically be subscribed to the Foliage Botanics email list. Your information will never be shared with a third party by these parties and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Refund Policy

Please take note that most of our outdoor programs meet rain or shine unless the weather is truly miserable, in which case class will be rescheduled. Sometimes these final decisions are made the day-of! Occasionally classes may need to be rescheduled for other reasons, like sickness or family emergencies, etc. There are no refunds for online classes or in-person programs that you do not attend unless they are simply canceled.

Student Agreements

In signing up for a foliage botanics program, you are committing to the below agreements:

  • Practice basic respectful etiquette with each other and me during this class (and in our communications around it)! Interrupting, eye-rolling, yelling or other demeaning/disrespectful behaviours will not be tolerated and anyone who does this will likely be asked to leave the class.

  • Use non-offensive language. We collectively promise to avoid using language that may be assumptive, racist, sexist, classist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, ageist, etc.

  • At the start of class we will always introduce ourselves with names & pronouns. If you are unfamiliar with this, tha’s ok, but you must respect everyone’s names & use their correct pronouns. This is a trans-inclusionary space. If you do not know or remember someone’s pronouns, please ask or simply use their name.

  • Participate with openness to giving and receiving feedback from me and fellow students & assume best intentions when interacting about tough subject matter—we are often all on different stages of the journey!

  • Take care of yourself! Please take breaks, drink water, eat food, voice discomfort, etc.

  •   Believe and respect others’ experiences.

  • Commit to work collectively through any conflicts or issues that might arise with me or another student. This, of course, applies more to our longer term programs, but is still relevant for one-off classes. In the event of a conflict, please take time to self-reflect and then return to work to address it with respect, kindness, and empathy.

In the event a student perpetuates harm in an ongoing way that cannot be resolved with conflict mediation, that student will be asked to leave the class/walk/program.
